The Cascade Mountain Range shields Kelowna from the chilling cold breezes that affects the most of Canada. Kelowna enjoys more than 2000 hours of sunshine throughout the year with the average summer temperature of 30 degree Celsius per year.

EDUCATION

Kelowna incorporates excellent education facilities ranging from preschools to post-secondary levels.  School District#23 offers public schooling through various neighborhood schools. There are also a good number of private schools available. Okanagan College and University of British Columbia are the major post-secondary education institutions in the region. Both are known for their excellent education standards and the diversity of courses they offer.

Kelowna evokes the image of an urban paradise surrounded by the elegance of nature. Kelowna also has some of the best golf courses in British Columbia. There are several other indoor and outdoor sporting options available all across the city. Kelowna is home to junior ice hockey team Kelowna Rockets and baseball team Kelowna Falcons. Kelowna also hosts numerous cultural events throughout the year. The Okanagan Symphony, Viva Musica, Bumbershoot’s Children’s Theater are some of the theater and music companies who offer live performances in the city. Kelowna houses many cultural venues in the city like  Kelowna Community Theatre and Kelowna Art Gallery. There are four museums in the city and a handful of sports facilities like the Elkes Stadium(Home of Kelowna Falcons) and Prospers Place (Home of Kelowna Rockets). Besides sporting events these venues are also used to organize concerts and other festive activities.
