The Cascade Mountain Range shields Kelowna from the chilling cold breezes that affects the most of Canada. Kelowna enjoys more than 2000 hours of sunshine throughout the year with the average summer temperature of 30 degree Celsius per year.


Kelowna incorporates excellent education facilities ranging from preschools to post-secondary levels.  School District#23 offers public schooling through various neighborhood schools. There are also a good number of private schools available. Okanagan College and University of British Columbia are the major post-secondary education institutions in the region. Both are known for their excellent education standards and the diversity of courses they offer.


Kelowna evokes the image of an urban paradise surrounded by the elegance of nature. It’s impossible to elude the allure of its sandy beaches, snow peaked mountains, crystalline lakes, widespread orchards and vineyards. The Okanagan Lake, Knox Mountain, Mission Hill Winery, Myra Canyon, Kelowna Waterfront are some of the spots that immaculately exemplifies the natural glamour of the lakeside community.


Thanks to the abundance of natural beauty, tourism has always been a thriving sector in Kelowna.  But now, the local economy is expanding and there are loads of work opportunity in various sectors. Kelowna has attracted many top notch companies in the recent years(Disney, Shaw, Walmart etc), and these companies played a vital role to promote economic welfare throughout the region. The Okanagan Symphony, Viva Musica, Bumbershoot’s Children’s Theater are some of the theater and music companies who offer live performances in the city. Kelowna houses many cultural venues in the city like  Kelowna Community Theatre and Kelowna Art Gallery. There are four museums in the city and a handful of sports facilities like the Elkes Stadium(Home of Kelowna Falcons) and Prospers Place (Home of Kelowna Rockets). Besides sporting events these venues are also used to organize concerts and other festive activities.
